Serving in Congress since 1989, Clifford Bundy “Cliff” Stearns, Sr. is one of the most tenured Republican representatives in the US House of Representatives. Representing Florida’s 6th congressional district, Stearns serves on both the Energy and Commerce and Veterans’ Affairs committees. During his tenure, he has taken strong conservative stances on a number of issues, most notably energy independence and the importance of taking care of returning soldiers and the families of fallen warriors.

In the recent congressional term, Stearns was most recognized for his part in the investigation into Solyndra, an energy technology company that went bankrupt following an influx of taxpayer money. The White House is on record as pushing for the loan, which ultimately cost taxpayers over a half billion dollars.
